I dont own cherry heads. Buy maybe someone here does. I believe they are similar in are to redfoots, but dont quote me on that..... Maybe Joe can offer you some advice. He is the moderator and owner of this site. He has many torts and turtles he breeds and owns. I am not sure if he handles cherry heads though. Hope you get help with your questions!

A Red-foot Cherry-head Tortoise is a "dwarf" variant of the Red-foot tortoise.  I did a search and found the name both ways: Red-foot Cherry-head Tortoise and Cherryhead Red-footed Tortoise.  Anyway, here is a link to a basic info/care sheet on Red-foots:
http://www.chelonia.org/articles/redfootcare.htm
Joe owns and breeds Redfoots but I don't believe he has any Cherryheads, though.

Hi Ginny
Cherry head care is the same as for regular redfoots

 Hi,
I have a pr. of cherry heads, they are beautiful little torts. You care for them the same way as redfoots, but the best part is they don't get as big.
Mine stay out all summer, as soon as the temps. get warm, I provide a heated house for them in their outside enclosure. In the winter I have to bring them in and they live in a tort table.
In my opinion they are one of the easier torts to care for.

Thanks for all the advise!  I will try to post a pic of our new girl soon. We really are enjoying her.

She is very alert and active. Eating really well,  so I guess she is healthy. We are gonna take her to an excotic pet vet next week.
We have been soaking her in warm water everyday  and misting her. I keep her house at about 85 degrees.
Can I take her outside yet?
                                  Thanks,  Kathy

The real sunlight is the best for torts.  Let her soak up the rays.  Please follow http://redfoottortoise.com

what type of lighting do you have inside?

If it's an adult Cherry Heads are much smaller than Red foots.

Could you post a photo of it?

Cherry Heads come from Brazil. If you post a few pic's of all of them I'm sure that a few people here could give you a good idea of where yours are from.
I find that the people selling many tortoises are mistaken as to the local range the different varieties.
Redfoots are all 1 species but there are about a dozen or more variants.
Always looking for adult Brazilian Redfoots (aka. cherry head)
