Very cute. Do you use anything in particular to shine up the shell? I wash my girl down and shes shiny for about 3 minutes and then back to her regular look. I on occasion use vitamin E or a little fish oil is shes going out to the park though lol

nope no shining here, they just shine while wet like yours. the little one mainly stays muddy.

They sure are beautiful. How do they compare to raising RT's? I raise RT's and desert tortoises in my backyard enclosure, and i have been researching RF's because I thought they were interesting. Having to supply animal protein makes me hesitant to get some though.

What have you been feeding your Red Ears and other aquatics? If you can give them animal protein you can totally keep Reed foots

Feeding animal matter is easy

butterworms will do wonders!  talk about a feeding frenzy, mine will actually hunt for more after they've eaten all i give them.

Thanks for the link Joe. And butterworms are a great idea. I feed the Red Ears and other aquatics trout chow everyday and catfish every other day. Do you think catfish would be ok for RF's?

Most catfish is farm raised on really bad/cheap diets. I won't use it
