She is beautiful! Can you get them to go down on the price? She shouldn't be on that food, of course, you probably know that. Are you willing to pay the vet bill it may cost? You will probably be rescuing her, which is a great thing if you have the funds. :) Sorry if I asked too many questions, just trying to help you decide  ;).

Caitlyn

PS It does look as though she has started pyramiding.

Her pyramiding doesn't look that bad, might not even be progressed to MBD yet. She needs to be rescued and fed the proper food!!! She is very pretty, for sure!

I agree with them. She is beautiful and you would definitely be rescuing her. If you have the money and time, I don't see why not  :)

so she is a cherry head right? they bought her off of craigslist as a "russian" tortoise 2 years ago i think.
she hasnt told me excatly what they are feeding her(shes a she right) but she said she lets her out to eat grass and has comercial pellets and some fruit.

I have been looking on her to see what to fed her as i never had anything other then box turtles and russians.
how much would you offer for her? as i dont know she has another one but it looks like a redfoot as it doesnt have the whitemarble coloring on her and not as bright of a head.

she doesnt live nearby i would have to stop by in a week or so(shes 2 hours away)

Lindy,

I don't know much about Cherryheads, but I believe that is a Cherryhead. Can't tell what the sex of it is. Does it matter? Just wondering. If you get her, take a picture of her tail and send it to us. Does anyone know if Joe has a website for Cherryheads? And I'd offer $50. But if they are stuck on that $100 and you can afford it, pay them, take the tortoise and RUN! Do your research like you have been. Also, maybe PM Joe or Dan, and ask them about diet and all. They are very helpful!

I would definitely take her though! And that is no more of Russian than the man on the moon!!!  >:( How many tortoises do they have? Did they say why they were selling her?

Looks like a small redfoot to me, but too big to be a cherryhead.

Just wondering if you got that tortoise.
It is a "Cherry head". They will get as big as a regular Redfoot.
The type with the marbling comes from Brazil.
They are very nice animals.
I saw these when they were imported years ago. (late 70's early 80's)
They are not dwarf's nor are they found in Paraguay.
Always looking for adult Brazilian Redfoots (aka. cherry head)
