Early hibernation in SF Bay Area?
« on: August 10, 2010, 03:46:38 AM »
My Russian (about 10 years old) went into a really early hibernation this year.  Stopped eating a few weeks ago and dug herself deep under a pot just a few days ago.  I live in the East Bay area of SF -- it's been cooler but seems pretty early to go down for good.  She usually hibernates Oct to Mar. or Apr.  (I think).  Anyone else have similar experience this year?

One of mine did that last year in late August.  What have been your overnight low temperatures?

Hi Laura,
Some of mine slowed down a little, but not hibernating. Mine usually cut back on eating next month.
