Late summer breeding.
« on: August 07, 2010, 11:43:23 PM »
Hi.

My experienced friend told me long ago, that RT can breed at the end of August, begining of September.

Males libido is possibly higher then. Well, this year I didn't have any eggs, to I see here some chances.

How you see it? do you have any experience with 'late summer' breeding ?

Ho should I prepare them ? I start to feed them better then in normal summer estivation time.
sorry for mistakes, I still learn English!

Mine mate all summer long.

My first clutch ever was laid the end of August. Usually I get the most clutches the end of August and the beginning of September.

Yeah, they sure are. Mint my gal is about 6.5" measured on bottom like you are supposed to.  You get any eggs down there in Mass?

Mine start laying eggs beginning of march, & might lay several clutches in a season.
I saw some digging last week.
