another rock question

I know alligators eat rocks to facilitate digestion. I saw my new female eating some small rocks and was wondering if they do it to help in digestions. Any thoughts, Jack

Tortoises are known to eat rocks especially white ones. I suspect for calcium.
People have had problems from rocks getting stuck inside the tortoise. You might want to remove rocks of that size from the area.

unfortuantly the rocks are everywhere in the yard and my torts are allowed loose in the yard. They do spend nights in an inclosure and when then the weather is poor and in the inclosure there are cuttlebones.
