Growing dandelions
« on: September 06, 2010, 07:43:50 AM »
Can seeds be planted in a large pot this time of year? It is still in the 90's here (Las Vegas).

Thanks!

I'm sure you can, but I live in England so don't know if I'm qualified to answer that :) I just wanted to say that I've had more success digging up dandies from the wild and planting a couple in a DEEP pot (this allows roots to grow). You get bigger, lusher plants this way, and more quickly.

Yep they should sprout.

Keep in mind that they need light to sprout. So don't cover them. I water them with a mister until they sprout.

You might also try using a piece of plastic wrap on top of the pot.
Plant more than you need, because dandelion germination rate isn't that good.
